Chief Financial Officer CFO (all genders) at one of our portfolio Companies

Overview This is a confidential CFO search for one of our Berlin-based EnergyTech Portfolio companies.

Our business combines:

A core Energy SaaS platform, providing digital infrastructure for utilities and energy market participants, and

A growing portfolio of market-facing energy solutions, including spot electricity contracts and innovative flexibility models such as the aggregation and commercialization of battery assets.

A team of 55 passionate employees

A revenue target of 20 m€ in 2026. As the company enters an important phase of strategic and commercial development, we are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the executive leadership team.

Tasks Your Role

As CFO, you will take full ownership of the company’s financial leadership across both our SaaS platform business and our expanding energy commercial activities.

You will strengthen financial governance, ensure operational and regulatory resilience, and support corporate finance and strategic readiness as the business evolves.

This role offers the opportunity to shape a company at the intersection of software, energy innovation, and electricity market transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting

Lead Human Resources

Oversee accounting, controlling, treasury, liquidity management, tax, and compliance

Oversee cash flow management, regulatory requirements, and commercial execution

Build robust financial structures for a hybrid business operating across SaaS and energy market execution

Drive transparency and financial discipline across commercial energy activities (e.g., retail products, aggregation models)

Establish investor-grade reporting and KPI frameworks to support strategic decision-making

Act as a key counterpart for shareholders, financing partners, and external advisors

Support corporate finance initiatives, including evaluation of strategic options, partnerships, and transaction readiness

Develop financial models for new growth areas such as battery aggregation and flexibility commercialization

Serve as strategic partner and trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team

Requirements Your Profile

Proven experience as CFO, Finance Director, VP Finance, or senior finance leader in a technology-enabled, energy, or infrastructure-related business

Experience in building, leading, and scaling finance teams in a dynamic growth environment

Strong expertise in financial governance, FP&A, reporting, and cash management

Solid understanding of SaaS business models and performance metrics

Familiarity with energy markets, electricity retail, trading, or flexibility business models is highly desirable

Experience working with boards, investors, lenders, and external advisors in high-stakes environments

Corporate finance or transaction exposure (M&A, due diligence, refinancing, or exit preparation) is a strong advantage

We are open to both experienced CFOs and high-potential finance leaders looking to take the next step into an executive role, with the ambition to shape a company at the intersection of SaaS and energy markets.

Hands-on mindset, strong analytical skills, and pragmatic execution ability

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Fluent in English (German is a plus)
