Cloud Data Engineer (Senior)

Location: Hybrid - 75% Remote 25% Onsite

Start Date: 1st April

My client are currently looking Senior Cloud Data Engineer to work on a Digital Transformation project within this Insurance industry.

We are currently looking for someone who has the following:

• Public cloud data excellence: You have successfully implemented multiple data projects in a public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a focus on building data platforms (data pipeline, data engineering, platform architecture, data lake, data warehouse, BI, ETL, analytics).
• Expert-level certification: You have already obtained at least one professional/expert-level certification in Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric or AWS/Azure Data Engineering
• Big data expertise: You have in-depth knowledge of at least one big data technology (Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric or AWS Glue) and proven project experience
• Tool competence: You have experience with data orchestration tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue) and are confident in using data persistence technologies (databases, data lakes).
• Data streaming skills: You have at least 2 years of experience with data streaming (e.g. Kafka, Flink, Spark).
• Coding fitness: Proficiency in Python, Scala and SQL
• DevOps & orchestration excellence: You are familiar with microservices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform) and modern MLOps techniques
• Communication & flexibility: Very good German and English skills and willingness to travel within Germany for project-related work
