CMO Management Consultant (Pharmaceutical Industry)

Your tasks as CMO Management Consultant

As a CMO Management Consultant, you will be supporting the design and rollout of structured processes for overseeing external manufacturing partners involved in API production.

Technical and Soft Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, preferably in API or drug substance manufacturing environments
• Hands-on experience in CMO management
• Solid understanding of GMP principles and international regulatory expectations (EU GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 210/211, ICH guidelines)
• Prior involvement in quality systems , procedural documentation , or compliance-related initiatives
• Experience contributing to or managing quality agreements is an advantage
• Confident communicator, comfortable working with cross-functional and external stakeholders
• Professional fluency in English and German (C1 level)
• Is hybrid position so it is mandatory that candidates live in Germany or have European citizenship and want to relocate

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement a structured approach for managing CMOs involved in API manufacturing
• Clarify governance, responsibilities, and interaction models between internal teams and external partners
• Contribute to the development and rollout of quality-related procedures supporting CMO oversight
• Support the setup and implementation of quality agreements and related workflows
• Establish practical processes for documentation exchange, review, and approval
• Develop and deliver training materials to ensure effective adoption of new processes
• Provide guidance during the initial execution phase to ensure consistent application of the framework
