Role: Commercial Account Executive Mid Market - DACH . This description outlines the responsibilities, qualifications and support for the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a mid-market book of business (companies up to 4000 employees) and be the primary point of contact for prospects and existing customers.
  • Support mid-market prospects and contribute to root cause analyses on wins and losses; share lessons learned with account managers, the marketing team, and the technical team.
  • Own your pipeline: document buying criteria, buying process, next steps and owners; ensure pipeline accuracy with evidence-based updates.
  • Collaborate with the business development team and sales management to manage a broad book with varying opportunity values and to exceed client expectations.
  • Lead and coordinate pre- and post-sales activities, provide account leadership, and contribute to product ideas in our public issue tracker.

What You’ll Bring

  • Genuine desire to ensure customer benefit from the investment with you.
  • Progressive experience in software sales; interest in GitLab and open source software.
  • Ability to leverage established relationships and proven sales techniques; effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated, driven, results-oriented with excellent negotiation, presentation and closing skills.
  • Preferred experience with Git, Software Development Tools, and Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and comply with the company travel policy.
