Commissioning Engineer HVDC

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to driving the energy transition by successfully delivering High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission projects for our customers.
• As part of a project team, you will carry out hardware and software tests – including customer acceptance – at our test center in Germany as well as at our worldwide HVDC sites.
• You will be responsible for the configuration, testing, and commissioning of field control devices for switchgear in HVDC transmission.
• Independently troubleshoot issues and actively support our software engineering team.
• Support the commissioning management in quality, risk, and claim management, as well as in improvement measures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Completed degree in electrical engineering or energy technology, or training as a certified technician.
• Extensive experience in commissioning field control devices (ideally SIPROTEC 5 / DIGSI 5) and high-voltage components.
• Solid knowledge of high-voltage and switchgear technology, including testing interlocking logics and step sequences.
• Experience with power system protection / protection relays; experience with Omicron test equipment is an advantage.
• Certified electrical skilled person (EFK).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good English skills; German is an advantage.
• High willingness to travel for national and international site assignments, optionally offshore.
• Team-oriented, communicative, decisive, and proactive.
• Flexible and willing to work on long-term assignments both within Germany and abroad.
