Job Summary

The Technology Product Consultant – Configuration Management Specialist is a mid‑to‑senior technical role performing various tasks related to Configuration Management within IT Infrastructure and Cyber Security. Responsibilities include creating and updating CM plans, enforcing standards, maintaining databases, automating audits, managing tools, and collaborating with stakeholders to define and enforce access restrictions related to system changes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure computing hardware and software, runtime environments, and data are monitored for adverse events.
  • Implement and enforce configuration change controls.
  • Establish, track, and control baselines for IT assets.
  • Actively manage software and hardware assets for IT Infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT and cyber security teams to implement and support FIM tools.
  • Ensure quality control procedures align with corporate policies.
  • Support implementation and management of security policies, alerts, reports, and audits.
  • Manage data governance, classification, discovery, and protection.
  • Work within configuration and change management policies to ensure change awareness, approval, and success.
  • Partner with IT and Cyber security groups on infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Interface with other IT areas for engineering and infrastructure support.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis on production system failures, develop corrective action plans, and track effectiveness.
  • Work in a 24x7 environment with call‑out availability.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of IT experience or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience with automation and file integrity monitoring tools (Ansible, Tripwire, MS Defender, Puppet, Terraform, Chef).
  • Knowledge of IT principles including infrastructure support, system administration, and application support/development.
  • Strong understanding of risk analysis, vulnerability assessment, and securing baselines.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and methods (secure configuration management, data protection, monitoring, incident response, patch management, governance).
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and recommendation skills using critical thinking and sound judgment in fast‑paced environments.
  • Ability to create both technical and non‑technical end‑user documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with clients, leadership, and staff.
  • Regulation 10 CFR 810 compliance required.

Desired Qualities

  • Experience with automation, scripting, and orchestration (Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of ITSM systems (ServiceNow), CMDBs, databases, and related platforms.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (BigFix, SCCM, Intune, SolarWinds).
  • Familiarity with security best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS).
