About the Project
We are supporting a leading engineering and project delivery partner on a new build, state-of-the‑art data centre in Hannover, Germany . This facility will deliver critical IT operations, with highly resilient power, cooling, and building systems. You will play a key role in ensuring the control and automation systems operate efficiently and reliably from design through to commissioning.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer on a contractor basis. You will be responsible for design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of the building management and automation systems that control power, cooling, and critical operational systems across the data centre. You will work closely with the project team and contractors to ensure systems meet performance specifications and operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, configuration, and commissioning of BMS, SCADA, and control systems .
- Review system specifications, drawings, and vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure proper system integration.
- Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and validation of control systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance during installation and commissioning.
- Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare reports, test protocols, and documentation for handover.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Controls Engineer on large industrial, commercial, or data centre projects.
- Strong knowledge of BMS, SCADA, PLCs, and control system integration .
- Experience with commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
- Familiarity with critical facility standards (e.g., TIA, Uptime Institute, ISO) is advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to be on‑site in Hannover for the 12‑month contract.
- Experience with multiple building systems (HVAC, power, fire, security) integration.
- Fluency in German or experience working in German project environments.
- Relevant engineering or technical qualifications in controls, automation, or electrical engineering.
