A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Corporate Commodity Manager (f/m/d) for 3rd Party Packaging, you drive the global commodity strategy for auxiliary packaging solutions such as Oil & Gas skids, base frames, piping assemblies, cabling, and valve-integrated packages. You align with regional procurement teams and business units to ensure supplier performance, capacity availability, and cost competitiveness. Based on market intelligence and cost analysis, you continuously refine sourcing strategies and evaluate make‑or‑buy decisions. Throughout the day, you negotiate with international contract packagers, resolve escalations, and mitigate supply chain risks. In close collaboration with Engineering, R&D, Cost‑Value Engineering, and Supplier Quality, you balance technical requirements, standardization initiatives, and commercial objectives. You act as the global interface between internal stakeholders and external partners ensuring resilience, competitiveness, and long‑term value creation.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and execute the global commodity strategy for 3rd party packaging across all business units.
  • Analyze market dynamics, cost structures, and supplier landscapes to drive data‑based sourcing decisions.
  • Develop Supply Chain concepts and realize cost optimization.
  • Drive make‑or‑buy decisions and global packaging standardization initiatives.
  • Lead and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including pricing, capacity commitments, and framework contracts.
  • Develop and govern long‑term strategic supplier partnerships, performance reviews, and contract management processes.

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Packaging Technology, or a related field.
  • Longstanding experience in strategic procurement of direct materials or in operations, ideally in Energy, Oil & Gas, or Process Industry; packaging experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record in complex negotiations and contract management at international level.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with excellent conceptual understanding of Supply Chains and structured problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management capabilities across functions and regions in matrix organizations.
  • Fluent in English; German and additional languages are a plus.
