1830 PSS 4LS Customer Support

The 1830 PSS 4LS Customer Support team provides primary Global R&D level support for customer problems.

Product Description

1830 WDM/OTN Transmission System provides leading‑edge optical transmission capabilities at industry‑leading data rates (100G+), optical reach, and bandwidth density, and a broad range of service capabilities including Ethernet, OTN switching, SONET, and SDH. The NOKIA 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) team seeks highly motivated and experienced engineers to support customers in a rapidly growing market.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

• Responsible for 1830 customer problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Act as a leading expert on one or more aspects of the 1830 Switched WDM product and technology, including OTN switching, control and management software, and WDM optical transmission.
• Use strong analytic, problem‑solving, and technical diagnostics skills, and manage coordination of problem resolution with R&D and customer support teams.
• Work closely with field support teams to collect and analyze diagnostic data and collaborate with R&D experts to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Develop advanced diagnostic tools, contribute to the 1830 diagnostic knowledge base, and train the broader field support team.

Key Skills And Experience

• Strong analytic, problem‑solving, and technical diagnostic skills.
• Management skills for coordination of problem resolution with R&D and customer support teams.
• Background in software or hardware design, development, or system test of communication systems.
• Development or system test experience with OTN switch and transmission systems, specifically the 1830 PSS 24x OTN System.
• Preferred: development or test experience with WDM transmission systems; customer technical support experience.

Qualifications

• Degree: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics.
