Freelance Cybersecurity Specialist – Critical Energy Infrastructure – South Germany – May Start

I’m currently partnering with a client delivering a major energy infrastructure project in South Germany, and we are looking to engage an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist on a freelance basis starting in May.

This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance, system security, and operational resilience within critical grid infrastructure. The project sits within the German regulated energy environment, so strong regulatory and technical understanding is essential.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Specialist within the energy or utilities sector
• Strong knowledge of security systems for German grid operators
• Solid understanding of KRITIS regulations and BDEW Whitepaper requirements
• Practical experience working with High Voltage Substations
• Ability to support implementation, auditing, and validation of security measures
• Experience collaborating with engineering, SCADA, and operational teams
• Location: South Germany (on-site presence required)
