Data Engineer (m/f/d), Cologne, Bratislava, Remote Work

We are a part of LOWTeq company and we recently established a new AI team and set a foot on a journey of implementing AI solutions into a well-established healthcare platform.

With around 40 employees, LOWTeq GmbH is one of the leading manufacturers of patient data management systems (PDMS) in the German-speaking region for emergency medicine, operative medicine and intensive care medicine with its super‑specialisations.

Who are we searching for?

We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join our team, who will become a valuable part of our company. The team is split between Cologne in Germany and Bratislava in Slovakia, and a fully remote setup is possible.

What you’ll do?

You will join the AI Team, where you will help us develop our data infrastructure. Your work will have a wide range of tasks regarding data pipeline lifecycle—from data analysis, testing, monitoring, through data labeling and providing new training data and other crucial inputs for our ML models.

Requirements

• BSc in STEM
• 3 years of practical experience in Programming (Python/C++/Java)
• 2 years of Linux experience
• 3 years of working with databases, SQL
• 2 years working in a technical team
• Experience with cloud (AWS), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), streaming (Kafka, Flink, Beam)

It would be great if you:

• Enjoy developing end‑to‑end solutions.
• Have knowledge about data pipeline orchestration.
• Are able to think logically about problems.
• Have a background or are interested in developing healthcare solutions.
• Have experience in working with data science teams.
• Are communicative, honest, and can think outside the box.
