Data + Model Engineer (f/m/d)

AgilXAI GmbH is a Germany-based AI startup building next-generation vision systems for industrial manufacturing. Our first product, CorteX , uses deep learning to detect defects directly at the machine – starting with high‑pressure die casting (HPDC).

We’re building the next generation of AI-powered defect detection systems for industrial manufacturing. Our mission is to help factories achieve zero defects through computer vision and automation. We’re a young, results-driven team combining deep technical expertise with real-world industrial applications.

Your core responsibilities

You’ll play a key role in shaping our core AI product — from data pipelines to deployed models. You will:

Build and maintain data processing and model training pipelines (Python, PyTorch).
Design reproducible training workflows using Docker and cloud GPUs.
Work closely with our founding team to turn manufacturing data into robust production AI.
Experiment with new model architectures and evaluate performance on real production imagery.

What we expect from you

We’re seeking hands‑on engineers who thrive in fast‑moving environments and care about making ML systems work in the real world.

You should have:

Strong experience with Python, PyTorch, and computer vision frameworks.
Familiarity with YOLO, segmentation, or SAM models.
Experience building data pipelines (e.g., OpenCV, Pandas, labeling tools).
Practical knowledge of Docker, Git, and cloud training (e.g., Hetzner, AWS, GCP).
A problem‑solving mindset and ability to take ownership of experiments end‑to‑end.
A good knowledge about German and English language.

Nice to have

Background in manufacturing or industrial imaging.
Startup or research project experience.
