Your Mission

As part of Hawk’s Data Science & AI team, you will help design and build advanced machine learning and AI-driven solutions to detect and investigate financial crime. You will have a passion for data, modeling, and problem solving, and a drive to push the boundaries of AI applications in FinTech.

Your Responsibilities

• Developing and improving AI/ML models to enhance detection of suspicious activities and reduce false positives.
• Researching and implementing state-of-the-art techniques in data science, machine learning, and AI to fight financial crime.
• Improving process efficiency, automation, and reproducibility across the Data Science team.
• Building prototypes and proof-of-concepts to test novel AI-driven approaches and illustrate prospective capabilities to customers.
• Analyzing complex financial datasets, identifying patterns, and presenting insights to the leadership team.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Solutions) to integrate models into customer and partner systems.
• Documenting methodologies, experiments, and findings to support transparency and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BSc, BEng or MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field .
• Ideally, you have prior experience (internships, projects, or work) in AI/ML, Data Science, Banking/Financial Services, FinTech, or Consulting .
• Strong knowledge of Python and libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow .
• Enthusiastic about AI applications in FinTech , passionate about solving critical problems, and curious with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data wrangling, feature engineering, and model evaluation .
• Fluent/native business-level English.
• A self-starter who is equally comfortable working independently or collaboratively.
• Available at least 10 hours per week, full-time possible.
