The Daycare Director will oversee the general welfare, health, and safety of children aged 2-3 years old in our childcare program.

Job Summary

• Help establish and enforce best practices for daycare center
• Know daycare licensing requirements
• Maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean, safe, and organized
• Assists with the implementation of education during all classroom activities
• Assist with the planning and execution of nutritious meals for students
• Carryout required emergency drills
• Operate within a given budget
• Keep an accurate inventory of supplies
• Work with Child Development teacher and students to develop a curriculum for daycare children
• Provide effective direction, guidance and motivational environment to enhance employee and team performance
• Supervise and mentor daycare staff by providing direct supervision and support to all members of the daycare staff. Includes approval of hiring, scheduling work hours, orientation, training and development, performance management and review, and corrective actions
• Coordinate and implement ongoing educational development plans for staff in keeping with the needs of the program
• Develop orientation program/packet for staff and parents
• Develop a system to communicate with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for every child
• Other duties as assigned by Principal/Superintendent

Qualifications

• Candidates should have experience in a daycare setting
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) in early childhood education, child development, or a CDA
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• CPR and First aid certified

Terms of Employment

Two hundred sixty (260) days at a salary determined by the Board of School Trustees. Daycare operation hours are 6:30 AM-5:30 PM, however the Director is not expected to maintain a presence during all operating hours on a daily basis.
