Deputy Head of Sales – Global High-Tech / 3D Metrology

Overview An internationally active technology company specializing in laser technology and optical 3D metrology is seeking a Deputy Head of Sales with strong leadership potential and a defined path toward broader executive responsibility within the global sales organization. The company operates worldwide with subsidiaries in major markets and delivers high-end sensor and measurement solutions that enable automation, quality control, and Industry 4.0 production environments, including applications across automotive, semiconductor, electronics, and medical industries. The position is based in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region of Germany.

This role is designed as a succession position, with the opportunity to assume global sales leadership responsibility within approximately two years.

Role & Responsibilities

Act as deputy to the Head of Sales and support leadership of an international sales organization of approximately 30 employees across business units such as semiconductor, automotive, consumer electronics, medical, and glass

Take responsibility for global sales activities within the 3D metrology segment, with scope expanding over time based on candidate profile

Option to independently lead a defined region (e.g., DACH) or strategic market segment during the initial phase

Drive sustainable revenue growth and execute strategic sales initiatives across international markets

Develop deep customer relationships by working closely with key accounts’ R&D and production teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into product and business opportunities

Contribute to product development direction through strong “technology-to-technology” engagement with customers and internal stakeholders

Strengthen and build sales processes, structures, and partnerships globally, including hands‑on involvement in developing markets when needed

Collaborate cross‑functionally with product management, applications, marketing, and sales operations

Candidate Profile

Proven experience in technical B2B sales within measurement technology, optical metrology, photonics, laser systems, semiconductor equipment, or comparable high‑tech environments (industry experience is strongly preferred)

Strong technical understanding (ideally optics, physics, or measurement technology) with the ability to engage credibly with engineers and technical decision‑makers

Technical degree required; advanced degree (e.g., Physics or Engineering, PhD preferred) is advantageous

Leadership experience with responsibility for teams, regions, or strategic accounts

Hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset suited to a mid‑sized international company environment, with the ability to build and implement processes independently

Strategic thinking combined with strong execution capability and ownership mentality

Fluent German and English language skills required

International business experience and willingness to travel globally on a regular basis

High‑impact leadership role with significant international exposure in a market‑leading technology niche

Clear development path toward global sales leadership responsibility within a defined timeframe
