A long-established software company in Heidelberg is entering a new technical chapter - and they’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to play a key role in that transformation.

For over 40 years, the company has been building and operating software platforms used by customers in retail, wholesale, and distribution. Today, they are actively modernising how their systems are built, deployed, and operated - with a strong focus on self-hosted infrastructure, automation, and AI-driven workloads .

This is not a classic “keep the lights on” DevOps role.

It’s an opportunity to become the go-to person for infrastructure and platform engineering , with real influence over tools, standards, and technical direction.

Your Role

Take ownership of the DevOps and infrastructure landscape
Build, run, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
Operate containerised applications on self-hosted, bare-metal systems
Set up and evolve monitoring, alerting, and operational standards
Support the rollout and optimisation of local AI / LLM workloads
Contribute to the modernisation and containerisation of legacy systems

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and have the freedom to shape how things are done - not just follow existing patterns.
