Position Summary

The DFAC Manager is responsible for the overall management, supervision, and performance of Dining Facility (DFAC) operations in support of government and military customers. The role ensures efficient food service delivery, compliance with contractual requirements, food safety standards, staffing plans, and quality assurance measures while maintaining high customer satisfaction and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily DFAC operations including food preparation, serving, sanitation, and facility management
  • Manage staffing plans, scheduling, and supervision of all onsite personnel
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, SOPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations
  • Coordinate with government representatives and leadership on operational needs and reporting
  • Monitor inventory, supply chain, and procurement of food and consumables
  • Control operational budgets and minimize waste/cost overruns
  • Lead inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks
  • Handle performance management, training, and workforce development
  • Prepare operational reports, staffing reports, and KPIs
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure continuity of operations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Food Service Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of DFAC, catering, or institutional food service management experience
  • Experience in government/military or remote-site environments preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Supervisory/leadership experience managing multi-functional teams
