Diagnostic Analytics Engineer (m/f/d) (Job ID 24785)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and migrate rule-based diagnostic analytics for remote power plant diagnostics into a modern, high-performance analytics platform
  • Review existing diagnostic rules, assess their operational value, identify improvement potential, and implement enhanced logic in the new system
  • Apply power plant engineering expertise and advanced data analytics to improve the detection and diagnosis of abnormal operating behavior
  • Design robust, reliable, and fail-safe analytical rules with clear diagnostic and operational benefits
  • Streamline existing analytics by focusing on relevance, accuracy, maintainability, and measurable value
  • Increase diagnostic performance by combining time-series data with additional data sources
  • Validate implemented analytics rules, analyze results, and ensure reliable performance in power generation environments
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and communicate diagnostic findings, technical concepts, and improvement recommendations in English and German

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Professional experience in power plant operation, power plant diagnostics, remote diagnostics, or a comparable technical field
  • Strong hands‑on experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators in power generation applications
  • Expert‑level Python programming skills for data analysis, diagnostic analytics, and automation
  • Strong expertise in time‑series data analytics, rule‑based analytics, and data‑driven troubleshooting
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work with P&IDs, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and electrical schematics
  • Excellent analytical thinking, troubleshooting capabilities, and structured problem‑solving skills
  • Strong communication skills in English and German for regular collaboration across departments
  • Sound understanding of diagnostic analytics, abnormal operating behavior, power plant systems, and operational performance improvement
