Freelance Digital Transformation Executive – QC Digitalisation (Up to €1000/day) – BW

Are you a seasoned Digital Project Leader looking for your next freelance opportunity? We are seeking an expert to lead a transformative Digitalisation Project within a global, multi‑site organisation, focusing on improving Quality Control (QC) processes. This freelance role offers up to €1000 per day and provides the chance to drive significant change in QC operations across multiple locations in Germany.

Challenges

Fragmented QC processes across various sites
High reliance on manual and handwritten activities
Legacy systems, including outdated LIMS and AS400 solutions
Past digitalisation projects that have been paused or failed
Aligning multiple stakeholders across QC, IT, and global teams
Defining the scope and business case for a full system rollout
Scaling the digitalisation solution across multiple global sites

Required Skills

Strong IT/Digital background (preferred over pure QC experience)
Proven experience in ELN/LIMS implementation
GMP/GxP knowledge (essential for regulatory compliance)
Understanding of QC labs (desirable)
Experience in global and multi‑site rollouts
Stakeholder management expertise – working with both QC and IT teams
Solid background in vendor selection & system implementation

Your Responsibilities

Lead the QC digitalisation programme, beginning with the implementation of Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN)
Define project scope, requirements, and build the business case for global rollout
Support the vendor/supplier selection process
Assess and review previous digitalisation efforts to extract lessons learned
Oversee the implementation at pilot sites (2026) before scaling globally
Prepare for LIMS integration as part of the 2027 roadmap
Focus on driving standardisation through system implementation (not process redesign)
Work closely with both QC and IT teams to ensure successful project delivery
