DIRECTOR, Control Systems

As the Director of Control Systems, you will lead the R&D professionals while holding the profit and loss responsibility for the control systems business. Your primary task will be to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of research and development projects. In addition to a robust technological focus, you are expected to integrate market needs and commercial considerations into product development. You will also develop a long-term strategic roadmap to enhance product delivery capabilities, update development methodologies, and ensure the sustainability of both software and hardware architecture. This role is based at the client's headquarters, with an expectation to work there sufficiently, and includes being part of the management team with direct reporting to the managing director.

The client seeks a candidate with a master's degree in engineering or a related field and a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in managing profit and loss responsibilities. Proven leadership within R&D teams, experience overseeing significant change, and a deep understanding of embedded software and electronics are essential. Ideally, candidates should have work experience in the industrial OEM or automotive sectors, management team involvement, and strong communication skills in English and Finnish.
