Staff Electronics IC Design-Verification Engineer

A globally recognized leader in silicon photonics is looking to hire a Staff Electronics IC Design-Verification Engineer for a fully remote position. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, the company requires candidates to be based within the European time zone.

In this role, you will play a key part in the design and verification of monolithically integrated circuits used in high-speed electro-optic transceivers. You will collaborate closely with highly skilled, international teams in a technically advanced environment focused on innovation and product excellence.

Responsibilities

• Execute structured design verification for monolithically integrated circuits targeting 200Gb/s and 400Gb/s line rates.
• Perform analog IC simulations using advanced technologies and automate regression simulations through scripting.
• Carry out system-level simulations in close collaboration with Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) and systems engineering teams.
• Help define, implement, and adhere to robust design methodologies and verification environments.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years of industry experience in IC design and verification.
• Expert-level experience in design verification, with extensive hands-on use of EDA tools, particularly the Cadence Design Framework.
• Strong understanding of chip-level electronic design flows for DFM (Design for Manufacturing), with a clear focus on quality and reliability.
• Proven experience in system-level simulation and automation/scripting for simulation data analysis and post-processing.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required for this international role.
• Must be legally based in and eligible to work within Europe.
