Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for an Electrical Data Centre Project Manager, based in Mainz. The Project Manager will oversee and manage electrical projects in data centers, ensuring the successful implementation of designs and adherence to project timelines and budgets. Responsibilities include supervising electrical contractors, managing resources, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient outcomes.

Project Leadership & Operations

• Site Supervision: Direct all daily electrical site activities, ensuring labor levels and progress align with the master schedule.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the central point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless communication and project alignment.
• Meeting Management: Facilitate and attend essential project forums, including internal reviews, subcontractor progress meetings, and client briefings.
• Team Motivation: Lead and inspire the project team, delegating tasks effectively across engineering and field staff to maintain a high-performance culture.

Safety & Quality Assurance (QEHS)

• Regulatory Compliance: Oversee electrical site safety in partnership with the safety department to ensure all work meets strict health and environmental guidelines.
• Quality Management: Enforce rigorous QA standards across all electrical packages, ensuring installations comply with technical codes and project specifications.
• Safety Strategy: Design and implement project execution plans focused specifically on maintaining top-tier QEHS standards.

Commercial & Financial Control

• Budget Oversight: Manage electrical package costs, including expense forecasting, budget monitoring, and the processing of change orders.
• Procurement & Tendering: Assist in tender evaluations and cost analysis while ensuring all materials and equipment are ordered and delivered according to the timeline.
• Risk Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessment reviews to identify and neutralize potential threats to the project’s budget or schedule.

Technical Engineering & Design

• Design Coordination: Translate IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings into practical installation plans via BIM coordination, ensuring all designs remain compliant with the original scope.
• Documentation Flow: Manage the RFI (Request for Information) process and oversee technical submittals to prevent design bottlenecks.
• Technical Integrity: Take full accountability for the accuracy of design deliverables, "As-Built" documentation, and technical specifications.

Project Planning & Closeout

• Schedule Development: Create and track project milestones, labor histograms, and performance indicators to ensure on-time delivery.
• Handover Excellence: Manage the final project phases, including punch list resolution, O&M manual compilation, safety file completion, and formal client handover.
• Commissioning: Establish and oversee comprehensive testing and commissioning protocols to ensure system functionality.
