Electrical Engineer - Grid Connection & Commissioning BESS / PV (Germany)

I'm currently partnered with a well-established renewables developer active across the full project lifecycle—from the acquisition of project rights through to construction and long-term delivery. Their focus is on creating sustainable, economically viable energy projects tailored to long-term success.

The company has a strong footprint in Europe and is entering a significant growth phase, with plans to develop and bring online 1 GW of renewable energy projects over the next three years. This will be achieved through a mix of in-house delivery and strategic partnerships, positioning them as a key player in Europe’s clean energy transition.

Join a forward-thinking company driving the energy transition through large-scale battery storage projects. As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure for energy storage facilities across Germany.

Your Role:

As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the grid connection and commissioning phases of cutting-edge renewable energy projects. You’ll work hands-on across the full project lifecycle, from planning to energization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing grid connections and commissioning activities for BESS and PV systems
• Supporting design and planning of LV/MV systems, SCADA, and grid integration
• Coordinating with suppliers, service providers, utilities, and grid operators
• Reviewing and validating electrical documentation ("as-built") for handover
• Overseeing on-site implementation – frequent national travel (50–100%)

What You Bring:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or equivalent technical certification (Techniker or Meister)
• Several years of experience in electrical construction, ideally in BESS / PV projects
• Solid knowledge of MV/LV distribution, protection, and measurement technologies
• Bonus: medium-voltage switching license and IT systems experience
• Proficiency with MS Office; AutoCAD a plus
• Fluent German (C1+) and good English
• Independent, structured working style with strong communication and problem-solving skills
