Electrical Test Technician/ Elektroprüftechniker (m/f/d) - Berlin

What To Expect Tesla’s Cell Qualification and Abuse Test teams are looking for skilled and motivated Electrical Test Technicians. The teams’ missions are to validate lifetime, reliability and safety performance of cells against requirements and standards. The team thus contributes to design and product validations.

What You’ll Do

• Perform cell and battery tests independently using specialized equipment, fixtures, environmental test chambers and data loggers and according to SOPs and internal standards.
• Perform test preparation activities (e.g. instrumentation, charging).
• Perform destructive teardowns for root‑cause analysis, document findings and report outcomes.
• Maintain high test throughput/efficiency and data quality.
• Perform electrical commissioning of machines and systems including functional testing and identification and documentation of deviations/errors in electrical plans.
• Own organizational tasks & responsibilities like creation & maintenance of procedures, SOPs, standards, equipment, inspections, lab commissioning, facilities, maintenance and staff trainings.
• Tasks require work with hazardous materials using mandated PPE, set up and perform tests in person and in lab environments and work with high‑voltage (live batteries) and other hazardous energy using mandated PPE and procedures.

What You’ll Bring

• Completed vocational training (Berufsausbildung) or recognized equivalent education in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrician, Industrial Mechanik, Automation or Maintenance or comparable technical and craftsmanship education.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment with new technologies, equipment and processes.
• Ability to perform repetitive and standardized work with high reliability and attention to detail on complicated systems is a “must have”.
• Basic familiarity with German Standards for Electronics and Electricity.

• Experience with test equipment for cell and/or battery testing (cyclers, environmental chambers, DAQs) or comparable experience with electrical test equipment.
• Hands‑on experience with cell and/or battery or vehicle testing or comparable experience in aviation, or power electronics.
• Assumption of responsibilities under dangerous goods law/ordinance; particularly but not limited to packaging and vehicle loading.
• Willingness to develop skills and take responsibility as Elektrofachkraft.
