About the Role

As Employee Relations Lead within the People Services team, you will provide expert oversight across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Belgium. You will lead and develop a distributed team of Employee Relations Case Managers, acting as both a coach and escalation point for complex and sensitive matters.

You will play a critical role in maintaining positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and fostering a consistent and fair work environment across all regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Employee Relations Case Managers, fostering collaboration and high performance
  • Allocate and oversee ER cases, ensuring timely resolution in line with service level agreements
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex cases, including disciplinary matters, underperformance, disputes, and investigations
  • Conduct and oversee high-risk internal investigations, including whistleblowing cases
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and employment standards across DACH and Belgium
  • Partner closely with Works Councils and key stakeholders to ensure consistent policy application
  • Maintain and continuously improve ER policies, processes, and documentation
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements to enhance ER practices and organisational effectiveness
  • Represent Employee Relations in stakeholder meetings, including HR, Legal, and leadership forums
  • Lead and contribute to global ER projects, sharing best practices across regions

Your Profile

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in HR and/or leadership roles
  • Strong, hands-on expertise in German labour law and Works Council relations
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases and internal investigations
  • Fluent in German and English (additional European languages are a plus)
  • Proven ability to coach, develop, and influence teams and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and experience working with HR systems (e.g., Workday, Jira)
  • Proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
