Energy Storage Business Development Manager

In a Few Words

We are seeking a hands‑on Energy Storage Sales Manager / Country Manager with direct front‑of‑meter battery energy storage system (BESS) project experience. The ideal candidate will understand the local EPC and system integrator ecosystem, the decision chain for large‑scale BESS, and the execution rhythm of such projects. You will know how to work with EPCs, system integrators, or project developers to secure orders for power conversion systems (PCS) and medium‑voltage integrated cabins (MV skids).

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the front‑of‑meter BESS sales activities in your country/region, covering utilities, IPPs, developers, and TSO/DSO stakeholders.
  • Map and maintain the local EPC and integrator landscape, ranking by technical capability, financial stability, and project track record.
  • Identify and influence the decision chain from project sponsor to EPC/SI to grid operator, lender, and insurer.

Opportunity Origination & Closing

  • Build a qualified pipeline across greenfield, brownfield, and retrofit projects; secure inclusion in EPC/SI/developer approved vendor lists (AVL).
  • Position Sinexcel solutions for PCS (string/central) and MV integrated cabins (transformer, switchgear, protection, SCADA integration) to meet grid codes and project applications (frequency response, peak shaving, capacity markets, etc.).
  • Coordinate bid preparation: RFP/RFQ analysis, compliance matrices, clarifications, pricing strategy, and bankability packages.
  • Negotiate terms (Incoterms, warranties, LDs, performance guarantees, payment terms) through to contract award.

Technical & Grid Compliance

  • Interpret TSO/DSO interconnection requirements (fault ride‑through, reactive power, harmonic limits, protection schemes) and translate into PCS/MV configurations with engineering teams.
  • Understand local permitting and construction schedules to align delivery and commissioning timelines.
  • Coordinate with EPCs/SIs on EMS/SCADA protocols, MV/HV design, civil works, and site acceptance.
  • Partner Enablement
  • Develop technical workshops, design guides, SLDs, and BoM templates for partners.
  • Run installer/EPC training sessions and co‑develop reference designs to accelerate bidding and execution.

Governance & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasting.
  • Produce win–loss and competitor analysis reports; feed product and feature feedback to R&D.

Required Profile

Must‑Have

  • 5–10+ years’ sales or business development in utility‑scale energy projects (BESS, PV, wind, CHP/BHKW), with at least 3 years in independent energy storage plants, solar farms, wind power, or CHP/BHKW.
  • Proven front‑of‑meter BESS project experience from origination to contract, including cooperation with EPCs, integrators, and developers.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell PCS and/or MV integrated cabins.
  • Solid understanding of local grid codes and interconnection processes.
  • Insight into market inflection points for large BESS (policy, ancillary service markets, capacity mechanisms) and ability to turn them into executable sales strategies.
  • Fluent English; proficiency in the local market language is a plus.

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Prior work experience with an EPC, system integrator, developer, or utility.
  • Acquainted with EMS/SCADA integration (Modbus/TCP, IEC 61850, IEC 60870‑5‑104) and protection coordination.
  • Basic knowledge of IEC/EN safety and compliance standards.

Soft Skills

  • Strong deal discipline and executive communication skills.
  • Self‑starter mindset, remote work capability, willingness to travel 30–50%.
