The junior research group Optoelectronic Materials and Photovoltaic Development focuses on the exploration of innovative materials for applications in photovoltaics and optoelectronics. As part of a third‑party funded project, an experimental setup is being developed to measure surface photovoltage (SPV) in combination with X‑ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) under ultra‑high vacuum conditions. To successfully implement this project, we are looking for your support as an engineer, particularly in the design and assembly of the vacuum chamber as well as in the testing, optimisation, and execution of SPV measurements using the completed setup.

Your Tasks

• Support in the design and construction of a vacuum chamber
• Support in the design and construction of a laser enclosure
• Testing and optimisation of a setup for measuring surface photocurrent
• Performing measurements on the completed setup

Your Profile

• Completed technical university/technical college education (diploma or master’s degree in a technical or engineering program)
• Willingness to work in a team
• B2-level English skills
• Desirable: Experience in the fields of vacuum technology, laser applications, and electronic measurement technology

Fixed term contract for 24 months. The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD‑Bund).
