We’re partnering with a fast-scaling Hamburg-based tech company operating high-traffic, distributed systems in a competitive global consumer environment.

This is not a coordination role. This is a hands-on Engineering Manager position in a backend-heavy architecture running at real production scale.

They need a leader who can raise the bar, technically and culturally.

What You’ll Own

A strong team Lead 6–7 experienced engineers (no juniors). Own performance reviews, 1:1s, hiring, and development. Build clarity, accountability, and ownership.

Technical credibility Contribute to system design and key architectural decisions. Step into critical code when needed (~10–20% hands-on). Guide backend-heavy, distributed systems at scale.

Reliability & scalability Services running on AWS & Kubernetes. Event-driven microservices architecture. High-load, performance-sensitive systems.

Tech Environment Python (FastAPI), growing Golang services Event-driven, distributed systems AWS, Kubernetes, Docker Vue.js, GraphQL Mobile (Flutter)
