Overview

Join us in shaping the transition to climate neutrality. Interdisciplinary. Practical. Effective. At PtX Lab Lausitz — a Think and Do Tank for Fuels and Basic Materials from Green Hydrogen — you will work on current and forward-looking topics related to CO2 reduction at the intersection of innovative technology, political framework conditions, and social dialogue. Our goal: to lay the foundations for the sustainable, environmentally friendly production and use of PtX products and promote their rapid and successful market ramp-up. To support the Team “PtX Mobility” in Cottbus we are looking for an Expert (gn) Aviation Industry and Policy – full-time or part-time, EG 13 (TVöD Bund). Z Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH operates PtX Lab Lausitz, founded in 2021 on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, as a knowledge platform and point of contact for industry, politics, and science on the path to greenhouse gas neutrality by coupling the electricity sector with transport and industry (PtX). Responsibilities

  • You analyze the current state of science, industry, and technology related to the market introduction of electricity-based sustainable aviation fuels (e-SAF) and derive well-founded insights for policy and practice.
  • You advise on regulatory and political frameworks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector, with a particular focus on aviation and cross-sectoral links to maritime transport.
  • You develop innovative, interdisciplinary policy solutions for mobility, combining technological, regulatory, and market-based approaches.
  • You provide technical advice to the German government and further policymakers.
  • You build and strengthen the PtX Lab’s network of key aviation stakeholders from industry, science, and politics at national, European, and international levels.
  • You communicate results effectively by authoring articles, policy papers, and other publications, presenting key findings at conferences, and designing and delivering workshops, webinars, and other technical events.

Qualifications

  • Completed academic university studies (Master's degree, university diploma or equivalent) in Aviation Management, mobility and transport economics/systems, business administration, engineering or similar
  • Several years of relevant professional experience in aviation industry, policy or research
  • A clearly pronounced interest in environmental and climate protection issues in the transport sector, especially in nexus of engineering, business, and politics
  • Very good written and spoken English language skills as well as proven minimum B2 German language skills
  • Quality- and solution-oriented, independent way of working combined with pleasure in teamwork and cooperation
  • Willingness for occasional business trips within Germany and abroad
