The Collaborative Research Centre 1463 “Offshore-Megastructures” welcomes applications for the following position starting July 1, 2026: Female Researcher (Post-Doc) in the area of Offshore-Megastructures (salary scale 14 TV-L, 100 %)
The fixed-term position is for a duration of five years.
The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1463 “Offshore Megastructures” which started on January 1, 2021 is one of the research focuses of Leibniz University Hannover. It comprises a group of roughly 40 scientists working on a common long term research project. The CRC is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and Leibniz University Hannover.
Jointly funded by funds for equal opportunity measures of the CRC and by basic funds of the Leibniz University Hannover this position for a female post-doctoral researcher is offered, to facilitate further scientific qualification in one of the CRC´s research areas. Developing a digital twin concept for integrated design and operation of megastructures of future wind energy converters above 20 MW is the core ambition of the CRC. It is structured into the project areas design boundary conditions, design principles, control and monitoring as well as the central project digital twin. You will be given the opportunity to build up your own research group. The scientific focus is not pre-determined, however, should be related to the scientific topics of the CRC. A close cooperation with the CRC is mandatory.
In addition, the advertised position will involve teaching duties at the institute.
Candidates must have completed a university science degree in the field of civil engineering or other engineering studies (e.g., mechanical engineering), mathematics or applied physics. In addition, a completed, thematically relevant Ph.D. is preferable, as well as the ability to work in a team, independence and an analytical mindset.
Knowledge of wind energy technology would be beneficial as well as first experience in managing and guiding a group.
A good command of the English language is required, since communication within the CRC is largely conducted in English.
