Field Application Engineer – Power Electronics – Germany

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Field Application Engineer (FAE) with a strong background in power semiconductors to join a leading company at the forefront of semiconductor innovation.

In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for supporting clients across North Germany and Northern Europe, helping them integrate advanced power semiconductor devices—including MOSFETs, IGBTs, and gate drivers—into a range of high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers across North Germany and Northern Europe.
• Collaborate closely with the sales and product engineering teams to understand customer requirements and propose optimal solutions
• Conduct product presentations, technical training, and hands-on demonstrations for customers and partners
• Assist with system-level design reviews and offer application-specific recommendations
• Gather and relay customer feedback to internal teams to support product development and enhancement
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in power electronics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field
• Experience in industrial or renewable energy sectors
• Solid understanding of power semiconductor devices, including MOSFETs, IGBTs, gate drivers, and their application in power conversion systems.
• Experience in customer-facing roles such as FAE, applications engineering, or technical support is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region (North Germany and Northern Europe)

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with power supply, inverter, or motor control applications.
• Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, PLECS) and lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analysers)
• Fluency in English; German is a strong advantage
