Field Service Engineer - Semiconductor Manufacturing

Overview

We’re looking for a skilled engineer who thrives in high-tech environments and enjoys working directly with customers. In this role, you will support advanced semiconductor manufacturing systems by installing, maintaining, and diagnosing complex equipment. You’ll be the technical expert customers rely on to keep cutting-edge production running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sophisticated semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites.
• Act as the main technical contact for assigned customer sites, ensuring efficient and professional service delivery.
• Oversee the lifecycle of installed tools, including scheduling service, preparing documentation, and coordinating customer discussions.
• Identify technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and apply proven methods to restore system functionality.
• Work closely with internal engineering, service, and product teams to resolve complex challenges and support product improvements.
• Support upgrades, retrofits, calibration tasks, and preventative maintenance activities to optimize performance and extend equipment life.
• Contribute to continuous service improvement and take on additional responsibilities when needed.

What You Bring

• At least 4 years of hands-on field service experience, preferably semiconductor equipment, industrial equipment service, or similar high-tech field service environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot detailed mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in production environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, capable of making sound decisions in real time.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working face-to-face with customers, building trust, and managing support expectations.
• Must be located in Stuttgart or open to relocate to this region from within Germany.
• Must hold a valid EU Driver´s license.
