Description

This role will have day-to-day accounting oversight of BOLAB and will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Financial Controller, Germany, and the allocated business’ management team on the delivery of full month end close, assisting on all finance functions, AP/AR/GL, balance sheet reconciliation, journals, P&L review, accruals, month end reports and oversee Cash-Flow transactions.

Core Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable (Kreditorenbuchhaltung):
  • Invoice Processing: Checking, coding, and posting incoming supplier invoices (both PO and non-PO).
  • Payment Runs: Preparing and executing weekly/monthly payment runs via bank transfer, ensuring compliance with payment terms to manage cash flow.
  • Vendor Relations: Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving discrepancies in billing or statement items.
  • Expense Management: Processing employee expense reports and credit card payments.
• Accounts Receivable (Debitorenbuchhaltung):
  • Invoicing: Creating, issuing, and posting customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Collection & Dunning: Managing dunning procedures (collections), monitoring overdue receivables, and liaising with customers to resolve payment issues.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Posting incoming payments (cash/bank entries) and matching them to open items.
• General Accounting & Closing Duties:
  • Month-End/Year-End Closing: Preparing accruals, provisions, and reconciling accounts (GL, AR, AP) for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensuring correct VAT treatment (Umsatzsteuer) for transactions.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting plus training as an Industrial Clerk
• Minimum 4 years of general accounting work experience
• Experience with multinational and/or publicly traded company
• Strong technical accounting background in German GAAP and/or IFRS
• Experience in Supply Chain and Process Chain
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
• Sound planning and organizational skills, with an emphasis on continual process improvement, benchmarking and best practices
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
• A genuine curiosity to delve into processes, procedures and issues to understand them.
• Proficiency in both German and English language.
• Current Driver’s Licence.

• Ability to travel between Munich and Gießen.
