Firmware R&D Operating Manager

You are an experienced software manager with a strong grasp of physics and hardware? Join us and become part of our Broadband and Photonic product development team, belonging to the Keysight Communications Solutions Group. In this position, you will get the opportunity to work with a highly motivated team to develop firmware for our best‑in‑class test systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the software product lifecycle from concept to release, including scope, schedule, resource, budget, and risk management, and communicate plans and results to management.
• Align with product planning, the hardware development team, marketing, order fulfilment, and other organisations to drive successful new product introductions.
• Lead a team of firmware engineers and support them in meeting their business and development goals.
• Identify and harness leverage potential across products and platforms.
• Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or another relevant subject.
• 3+ years’ experience in leading software, ideally firmware, projects in a commercial environment.
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial software, ideally firmware, engineering.
• Sound knowledge of project management methodologies, especially Agile methods.
• Strong grasp of physics, preferably around digital or optical communication systems.
• Pro‑active, strategic, and growth mindset, ready to hold themselves and others accountable.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent English.

Desired Qualifications

• Practical experience in developing firmware.
• German language skills.
