Flight Control Systems Engineer

Flight Control Systems Engineer – 12‑month contract, Munich, Germany

We are seeking an experienced Flight Control Systems Engineer to join a high‑tech aerospace project on a 12‑month minimum contract near Munich, Germany. This is a unique opportunity to work on the architecture, development, integration, and certification of advanced flight control systems in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, analysis, and integrity of flight control systems
• Develop and integrate flight control software and hardware systems
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and certification standards
• Support and manage flight tests, qualification, and certification activities
• Manage work packages and coordinate with suppliers and third parties
• Define system requirements, including system architecture and interfaces
• Perform requirements management, validation, and verification
• Develop system and software documentation
• Troubleshoot and liaise with production and flight test teams

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in aircraft systems engineering, ideally flight control systems
• Proven experience in development and certification of aircraft systems
• Knowledge of EASA CS23 and/or Part 21J Design Organisation (DO) requirements
• Experience with software/hardware development for airborne systems is advantageous
• Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter or Siemens NX is a plus
• Strong analytical, structured, and solution‑oriented approach
• Experience managing suppliers and working with international teams
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Flexible and able to support cross‑functional activities
• Experience as a Certification Verification Engineer (CVE)
• Knowledge of software architecture, design, UML, SysML
• Understanding of embedded systems and Linux
• Awareness of software safety and security considerations
• Expected daily rate: €750–€900/day, depending on experience and certification expertise
