How you will make an impact:

• Design andimplementflightcontrollaws (attitude, rate,position, andadvancedcontrolmodes)
• Modelaircraftdynamics includingaerodynamics,propulsion, andactuatorbehavior
• Buildhigh-fidelitysimulations(SITL/HITL) andvalidatethemagainstflighttestdata
• Analyze realflightlogs toidentifyinstability,couplingeffects, andperformancelimitations
• Collaboratewithnavigation,perception, andhardwareteams toensuresafe andpredictableflightbehavior
• Contributetoflighttestcampaigns anditeratequicklyfromexperimentalresults

✅ What you need to be successful:

• Strongbackgroundin flightmechanics,dynamics, andcontroltheory
• Experiencewithclassicaland moderncontrolmethods(PID, LQR, MPC,observers,filtering)
• Abilitytoanalyzestabilityandperformanceinnonlinearsystems
• Degree (MSc/PhDpreferred) in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Control Engineering,orrelatedfield
• Experienceworkingwithflightcontrolfirmware(PX4 /Ardupilotorsimilar)
• ComfortableworkingwithPython-basedmodelingtools
• Practicalmindset—capableofturningtheoryintoworkingcontrollerson realaircraft
• Enjoydebuggingphysicalsystemsandvalidatingthemexperimentally
