Food Compliance Specialist

About the role

Do you have a strong regulatory mindset and enjoy working with food legislation, product specifications, and labeling compliance?

We are looking for a Food Compliance Specialist to strengthen our regulatory and compliance activities and ensure our food products meet all EU legal requirements and relevant German Leitsätze .

Key Responsibilities

As Food Compliance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring product compliance across our portfolio. Your responsibilities include:

• Review and assess food products for compliance with EU food legislation (including Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 , additives, contaminants, novel food, claims, etc.) and German Leitsätze
• Prepare and perform label compliance checks (ingredients, allergens, nutrition declaration, claims, mandatory particulars)
• Evaluate product specifications, formulations, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure regulatory requirements are met
• Prepare regulatory documentation for authorities, customers, and internal stakeholders
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on existing products
• Support audits, inspections, and official controls when required
• Contribute to internal compliance processes, SOPs, and workflows

Required Experience & Skills

• University degree in Food Engineering, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Biotechnology , or a similar field
• 3–4 years of professional experience in food compliance / regulatory affairs
• Strong knowledge of EU food legislation
• Hands-on experience with label compliance and ingredient assessment
• Experience working with international suppliers and imported products
• Very good English and German skills (written and spoken)
• Confident handling of specifications, certificates, and technical documentation
• High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset
• Structured, process-oriented working style
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership
• Comfortable working in cross-functional and multicultural environments
