Salary transparency:

This position is aimed at candidates with more than 5 years of professional experience.

The salary range is between €90,000 and €120,000 gross per year, depending on experience.

Location: Europe, Hybrid +30% international travel.

Muxon is a small, globally active recruitment agency and is conducting this search on behalf of our partner (an early‑stage, Munich‑headquartered sustainable‑technology investor and project‑builder focused on hardware + software solutions for land management and consumer products; pre‑seed, mission‑driven, small founding team with founders in Europe and field operations abroad). We are looking for a Founding Software Engineer / Head of Engineering to own and ship a complete firmware‑cloud‑mobile product and grow into a technical leader.

Responsibilities

• Own the full technical stack: embedded firmware, cloud infrastructure and an iOS app.
• Take over and improve existing STM32‑based firmware and collaborate with manufacturing partners.
• Architect and build cloud data & API systems from scratch with scalability and reliability in mind.
• Design and deliver an iOS UX tailored for users with limited literacy (text‑to‑speech, visual flows, micro‑interactions).
• Use AI tools as core development partners to accelerate delivery and quality.
• Deliver V1 to market and iterate rapidly based on field testing (role includes ~30% international travel for launches & testing).
• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience with shipped products.
• Comfortable learning hardware/embedded domains (STM32 / C / IoT protocols are a plus).
• Demonstrable, heavy use of AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor) with concrete examples.
• Systems thinking across embedded firmware, cloud and mobile apps.
• Obsession with UX and product simplicity—experience designing for low‑literacy or constrained users is highly valued.
• English fluency (C1). Startup mentality: autonomous, resourceful.
