FPGA Design Engineer - Electronics Systems (m/f/d)
As part of the Electronics Department at OHB, you will design and verify FPGA firmware for high-precision space applications. Our units control precision mechanisms, suppress vibrations, and process high-resolution image and sensor data. If you want to develop FPGA solutions that meet strict performance and reliability requirements in the harsh environment of space, this role fits you.
Your Tasks
- Analyse and define technical requirements
- Design architecture and requirements breakdown to functional blocks
- FPGA design, implementation and definition of constraints
- Design documentation according to internal and external normative standards
- Creation and execution of test benches for RTL and timing simulation
- Formal verification of FPGA designs (timing analysis, code coverage, coding rule check)
- Support of the FPGA integration on the target hardware
- Define verification concepts and plans
- Conduct FPGA verification and test activities on the target hardware
- Programming of test hardware for automated implementation of hardware test cases
Your Qualifications
- University degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline (Technical University/University of Applied Sciences)
- Professional experience in VHDL design for synthesis and behavioral modelling preferably in the space industry
- Knowledge of using state of the art design and simulation tools (e.g. Libero, Modelsim)
- Experience in FPGA design and verification based on ECSS-E-ST-20-40 and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02
- Experience in the mitigation of single event effects caused by radiation
- Experience in the implementation and verification of FPGA based signal processing and control algorithms. Knowledge of programming languages (C/C++ or Python) Excellent communication skills, ability to work in teams
- Fluency in English; German is an advantage
