We are seeking a highly analytical, proactive, and technically skilled Fraud Investigation Specialist to join our team. In this evolved role, you will move beyond traditional fraud monitoring into a more intelligence-driven and project-focused function. You will actively identify system vulnerabilities, uncover emerging fraud patterns, and lead end-to-end investigations with a strong sense of ownership. Working closely with Data, Product, Engineering, and Account Management teams, you will strengthen our fraud prevention framework while proactively reducing risk exposure.
What You’ll Do
- Proactively identify fraud risks by analyzing transactional, behavioral, and system-level data — not just reacting to alerts, but actively scoping out threats.
- Conduct end-to-end fraud investigations, owning cases from initial detection through resolution and prevention design.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing efforts to identify system weaknesses fraudsters could exploit.
- Use SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to uncover hidden fraud patterns and anomalies.
- Gather intelligence from multiple internal and external sources to anticipate emerging fraud tactics.
- Design, implement, and optimize fraud detection and monitoring systems in close collaboration with Data, Product, Engineering, and Account Management to strengthen controls and close security gaps.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You think like an attacker but act as a defender — anticipating vulnerabilities before they are exploited.
- You are highly self-reliant and proactive, capable of driving investigations independently without waiting for direction.
- You have a strong project ownership mentality, approaching problems from multiple angles until fully resolved.
- You thrive in fast-changing environments and are comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- You combine analytical rigor with strategic thinking, focusing not only on solving individual cases but strengthening overall systems.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in Fraud Analysis, Security Operations, Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data analysis; ability to work with large datasets and uncover meaningful insights.
- Experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, or security risk analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct end-to-end investigations and projects independently.
- Intelligence-gathering mindset — ability to synthesize information from multiple sources to identify emerging threats.
- Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for analysis or automation is a strong plus.
