Freelance HR Manager – Pharmaceuticals – 12‑Month Contract – Düsseldorf

A global pharmaceutical company requires an experienced HR Manager to lead the function on a major project.

Responsibilities

  • HR Manager creates true synergies to facilitate the achievement of business objectives.
  • Reporting to the Snr Project Director, the Human Resources Manager serves as a consultant to management and assesses human resources related needs to develop integrated solutions.
  • Develop and implement onboarding strategy and process in collaboration with management.
  • Represent the company culture and values.
  • Support relationships with chosen resource providers.
  • Provide day‑to‑day HR services to employees and business leaders.
  • Lead and/or participate in varied HR projects with Learning & Development, Talent & Acquisition, Payroll, and administrative colleagues.
  • Play an active role as the HR specialist in business projects, implementing local and international HR projects to support the site’s HR strategy.
  • Ensure correct application of social legislation by maintaining in‑depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day‑to‑day employee management, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support and guide management in the implementation of various processes.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to fill vacancies in a timely manner and coordinate recruitment and candidate selection as per Project Director needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in an HR capacity of resolving complex employee relation issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and provincial employment laws.
  • Relevant industry experience a plus (e.g., pharmaceutical).
  • Experience supporting new site set‑up and hiring.
  • Strong knowledge of social legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong people‑management skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
