Please note that this is a fixed-term contract, running until mid-April 2027, to provide coverage for maternity and parental leave.

About your team

The Compliance department's role is to provide an excellent compliance service, promoting a strong compliance culture and reputation of FIL Fondsbank GmbH (FFB) through pro‑active management of regulatory and reputational risk, undertaken in partnership with the business, and in the best interests of our investors and customers. This is achieved by providing the business areas with sound professional advice, but also through monitoring compliance with our regulations. Our team cooperates with all 2nd Line of Defense and Oversight functions, has a strong connection to the Management Board, and acts as the central point of contact for the supervisory authorities.

About your role

As Compliance Manager - Regulatory Horizon Scanning your role is to support the Compliance Team in identifying, reporting and managing regulatory risks and thus protect FFB from any risk of being non‑compliant.

You will pro‑actively support the specific business areas with regards to questions on how to comply with the relevant regulation. It would therefore be a great advantage if you are already familiar with the German banking and Investment Services regulation.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning on
    • German Banking and Investment Services regulation (e.g. KWG, WpHG, AnzV)
    • BaFin/Bundesbank regulation and expectation (e.g. BaFin Circulars MaRisk, MaComp, Fit&Proper MaDepot)
    • European law and regulation (e.g. DORA, CRR / CRD, CSRD)
    • EBA/ESMA/ECB topics
  • Conduct impact assessments if new regulation/change in regulation is applicable to FFB's business model.
  • Prepare presentations to the Executive Committee, the Managing Directors and/or the Business responsibles.
  • Support regulatory projects and the business areas by answering questions and solving problems in relation to legal and regulatory requirements and their interpretation.
  • Participate in working groups and meetings of banking industry associations (e.g. VAB, BVI).

About you

  • A University degree in Law / Business Law, Economics or a comparable field of studies.
  • At least 2 years experience in Compliance or regulatory services. You gained this experience either in the financial industry or in an audit/consultancy firm with appreciation of the regulatory environment.
  • An in‑depth understanding of the existing German and European regulation applicable in the financial industry (WpHG, KWG, MaComp, MaRisk, MiFID II, etc.).
  • Self‑motivated with strong analytical skills, the ability to prioritise in a multi‑task environment and meet deadlines while working in a high‑pressure environment.
  • A pro‑active team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Fluent in both German and Business English.
