Full Stack Cloud Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a multi-disciplinary engineers to join a critical Lung Screening programme. You will work across DevOps, Development, and Testing to deliver high-quality, scalable digital services. The ideal candidates are comfortable in Agile teams and have experience working within Government Digital Service (GDS) standards or similar frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in an Agile team to design, build, test, and deploy cloud-based solutions for lung screening services.
• Deliver end-to-end DevOps solutions using Terraform and AWS.
• Develop full-stack applications using AWS, Python, and React and/or Next.js.
• Create and maintain automated test frameworks using Python and Playwright (or Cypress, with willingness to adopt Playwright).
• Manage source code, CI/CD pipelines, and project workflows using GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
• Ensure adherence to Government Digital Standards, accessibility, security, and quality guidelines.
• Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience across DevOps, Development, and Testing in professional projects.
• DevOps: Strong knowledge of Terraform and AWS cloud services.
• Development: Full-stack experience with Python, React, and/or Next.js, preferably on AWS.
• Testing: Proficiency in Python-based automated testing; experience with Playwright preferred, Cypress acceptable with willingness to learn Playwright.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams, ideally in Government or public sector environments.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

Desirable:

• Experience adhering to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards or equivalent.
• Knowledge of healthcare or screening programmes.
