Black Semiconductor

Furnace Process Development Engineer (f/m/d)

Stellenbeschreibung:

About us

We see the semiconductor industry as a realm of possibility. We see opportunities. We see the profound impact that our graphene solutions will have in transforming the industry. We invite you to join us in driving change with our fundamentally human-centered approach, uniting bright minds around a shared vision. The vision is: Prove to everybody that you can make a fundamental change. Prove with your knowledge and skills how things can be done differently. Together, we can change the paradigm of how the world connects.

About our technology

The semiconductor industry’s growing demand for more powerful chips with higher bandwidth and lower power finds its solution in our technology. We connect chips to high-throughput, low-delay computing networks. The key lies in harnessing the physical properties of graphene to combine electronic computing with photonic communication, allowing countless chips to interact almost as if they were one. Our graphene photonic innovation increases computing power and efficiency to a new order of magnitude. In short, we connect chips to create powerful and energy-efficient networks, overcoming connectivity limitations in the semiconductor industry. We deliver the graphene solution.

The Role

We're looking for a hands‑on Furnace Process Development Engineer to help us build, run, and improve our high‑temperature furnace systems for material growth. This role is a mix of R&D and manufacturing, perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and figuring things out—both on the tool and in the process.

To join our team, you should be excited to

  • Adapt and transfer existing processes to a newly upgraded furnace tool.
  • Optimize material growth processes and work with the team to design, test, and integrate new furnace components.
  • Make hands‑on equipment modifications—installing parts, testing components, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
  • Actively collaborate with R&D to validate system updates and ensure we’re hitting the quality and performance targets.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment and follow good practices around process control.

Your Qualifications

  • Experience (3+ years) running or maintaining furnace systems or similar tools.
  • Comfortable working with high‑temperature wafer processes.
  • Experience in a cleanroom environment, whether in an R&D lab or semiconductor fab.
  • Hands‑on with tools and systems—you're the type who likes to tweak, fix, and improve things.
  • Background in semiconductors, advanced materials, or nanomaterials is a strong plus.
  • Excited to work where innovation meets real‑world applications—you like seeing your work turn into something that runs every day.
  • Being available to move and travel: This role will initially be based in Zoetermeer, Netherlands for a few months, with an expectation to move to Aachen, Germany.
  • Familiar with process scaling or transferring recipes between tools or systems.
