Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial

General Counsel

to build and lead their legal function from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating structure, driving transactions, and shaping a high‑growth organisation.

What You’ll Do

M&A Lead legal work for acquisitions, including pre‑DD checks, SPA reviews, and coordination of external counsel. Streamline processes to reduce external spend and accelerate deal execution.

Corporate, Commercial & Employment Bring key contract drafting and review in-house (NDAs, credit agreements, HR/service agreements). Act as the primary legal partner for HR, Finance, and Treasury. Manage external advisors when required.

Standardisation & Operations Build a library of templates, playbooks, and best‑practice processes. Oversee the contract database and ensure proper document governance.

Risk, Compliance & Data Protection Develop group-wide risk and compliance guidelines. Lead data‑privacy efforts and potentially serve as Data Protection Officer.

What You Bring

Substantive experience in general commercial contracts and/or corporate/M&A (law firm or fast-paced in‑house). Fully qualified lawyer with strong academics. Solid M&A exposure, ideally in a buy‑and‑build context. A pragmatic, independent, “builder” mindset. Business‑fluent German and English.
