General Manager, Germany
on behalf of an international oncology innovator. The company operates at the unique intersection of MedTech and Pharma, developing a device‑enabled therapy platform for patients with aggressive solid tumors. With one approved therapy and several new indications nearing launch, the organization is entering a pivotal phase of expansion. Germany is one of its most strategically important markets.
The Opportunity This role offers the chance to lead a growing national organization within a global company of around 1,000+ employees. It combines the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a scale‑up with the stability and maturity of an established international business. We are looking for a ‘leader of leaders’ who brings empathy, emotional intelligence, and strong performance orientation. With the ability to inspire teams, build trust with clinicians, and guide the business through a period of significant growth. The GM will oversee Access, Medical, Marketing, and Sales, working closely with international colleagues to shape strategy and deliver impact for patients and the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities Full P&L leadership for the German business, with direct responsibility for Access, Medical, Marketing, and Sales. Develop and execute the national strategy in close partnership with global leadership. Ensure commercial excellence across multiple oncology indications and prepare for upcoming launches. Shape access and reimbursement strategies tailored to the German healthcare environment. Build and empower a cross‑functional leadership team; cultivate a patient‑first, emotionally intelligent, high‑performance culture. Maintain strong engagement with clinicians and field teams; lead with credibility and hands‑on presence. Navigate a matrixed global organization with clarity, alignment, and influence. Represent the company with authorities, payers, clinical leaders, and strategic partners.
Your Profile 10–15 years of commercial experience, including more than 5 years in GM or BU Director roles with full P&L responsibility in the Pharma or MedTech sector. Demonstrated success launching and commercializing innovative therapies in complex markets. Strong background in oncology or rare diseases; experience in agile, scaling environments. Deep understanding of German healthcare, access, and reimbursement. Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing, field‑based teams. High empathy and credibility with clinicians; emotionally intelligent leadership style. Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, operational approach. International mindset and excellent English.
