General Surgery Consultant

This position is ideal for an experienced and highly skilled surgeon dedicated to providing superior surgical care across a range of general surgical procedures.

The Consultant General Surgeon will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients requiring surgical intervention. This role entails working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care, adhering to best practices and evidence-based guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a comprehensive range of elective and emergency general surgical procedures.
• Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations and post-operative management, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other specialists to formulate individualized patient care plans.
• Provide leadership and training to surgical residents and junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities to enhance surgical practices and outcomes.
• Uphold accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and legal requirements.
• Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures, treatment options, and aftercare instructions.
• Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• US Board/ FRCS - Irish, UK, Canadian, New Zealand or Australian/ Diploma d'Etudes Specialises (DES)/ CIS French Board/ Fachart & Sub- Board/ Fellowship / Board / Fellowship / Sweden / Belgium / Finland / Spain
• Must have at least 3-5 years of post-consultant or senior specialist experience
• Eligible for consultant licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
