Hardware Integrator & Systems Engineer for Parking Systems (m/f/d)

Stellenbeschreibung:

Hardware Integrator & Systems Engineer for Parking Systems (m/f/d)

Location: Erlangen/Nuremberg · Full-time · Hybrid

Experience: Professional experience preferred (≥ 3 years), but not required

Focus: Hardware control, electrical interfaces, device technology

Bonus: Hands-on approach & understanding of systems

About us

Our parking systems consist of physical hardware —barriers, displays, cameras, sensors, payment terminals, and control units—and a digital platform that connects these devices.

To ensure everything works reliably, we need technicians who truly understand electricity, signals, and electrical interfaces , and who can also configure and set up our systems.

This is a job for people who enjoy working with hardware but are just as capable of operating systems and setting up digital devices .

Your Mission

You will be responsible for hardware integration : You will define how barriers, displays, control units, and other components are electrically connected , how they transmit and receive signals, and how they interact within our systems. Your work will involve both hands‑on tasks (devices, cabling, signal logic, hardware testing) and digital tasks (configuring parking areas, cameras, triggers, and device settings).

In short:
You're the one who makes hardware speak.

  • Hardware Control & Electrical Interfaces (CORE FOCUS)
  • Definition and documentation of hardware interfaces (inputs/outputs, triggers, relays, 12V/24V signals)
  • Developing control concepts for barriers, displays, traffic lights, sensors, and control units
  • Determine which signal is triggered and when—and how it is processed
  • Assess how devices function electrically and how they should be properly connected
  • Testing device functions: What type of contact? What logic? What voltage?
  • Creation and maintenance of technical connection diagrams (from a hardware perspective)
  • Integration of new generations of hardware
  • Electrical analysis of new devices (capabilities, signals, interface behavior)
  • Setting up small test rigs in the laboratory/engineering hall
  • Testing the response to signals and triggers
  • Deriving the appropriate control logic for our system
  • System Configuration & Setup of Parking Areas
  • Setting up cameras, zones, triggers, and device configurations
  • Configuring functional logic, trigger criteria, and operating parameters
  • Verify that the electrical control system and system configuration are working properly together
  • Documentation of the technical setup
  • Basic IT tasks (supporting—not the main focus)
  • Check devices remotely (basic remote access without complex IT expertise)
  • Access cameras via web interfaces, adjust settings
  • Interpreting errors from monitoring messages (camera offline, device unreachable, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of IP, ports, and simple networking concepts
  • Troubleshooting (Hardware and System Interaction)
  • Determine whether a problem is caused by hardware , the signal , the configuration , or network connectivity
  • Structured problem analysis with a technical focus
  • Collaboration with Engineering, Support, Integration, and Software— but you’ll always be working at the hardware/system level

Your profile

Background (at least one of the following)

  • Electronics Technician (Equipment & Systems, Automation, Industrial Engineering)
  • Mechatronics Technician (Industry, Automation, Robotics, Access Control Systems)
  • Service Technician (Barriers, Gates, Access Control, Video Surveillance, Alarms, Vending Machines)
  • Technician (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics)
  • Or: Makers/hobbyists with a strong understanding of hardware
  • Preferably at least 3 years of technical work experience
  • However, career changers are also welcome if you have strong technical skills and a knack for hardware
  • Proficient in working with signals, relays, 12V/24V , and inputs/outputs
  • Understand hardware, don't just plug it in
  • Technical Documentation & Attention to Detail
  • Basic knowledge of IT and system access is sufficient
  • Ability to logically evaluate device behavior
  • The DIY gene : You want to know WHY something works
  • You love hardware, devices, signals, and mechanics
  • A desire to try things out, test them, and improve them
  • Team-oriented & clear in technical communication

Why PRM?

  • Working with actual hardware instead of just theory
  • Combination of electrical integration and system configuration
  • State‑of‑the‑art technical facility, laboratory, and testing equipment
  • Hybrid: Lab/Office + Remote Work for Documentation/Analysis
  • A stable industry with many technical challenges
  • The freedom to develop pragmatic solutions and help shape technical standards
