What we do: We work with installers of climate hardware (solar, battery storage, heat pumps) to enable their customers to finance installations through monthly installments. Our platform provides the technical and financial foundation to make this happen, actively accelerating the energy transition for households, our partners, and the planet. We have secured €500 million in funding commitments to green 25,000 households over the next two years, following a pre-seed round backed by renowned VCs. We’ve been growing rapidly since.
Role : As Finance Lead (m/f/d) , you will build the department and help shape the financial infrastructure for the green transformation.
Responsibilities
- General
- Own strategic and operational responsibility for the finance department, including accounting, controlling, financing and tax; serve as primary contact for economic and tax-related matters.
- Develop and implement controlling/finance processes, tools and procedures to enable fast, high-quality reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Build, structure, and lead a scalable finance team.
- Design and implement new things from scratch; take ownership to make things happen.
- FP&A
- Coordinate annual budget, mid-year forecasts and cash flow forecasts.
- Track, analyze and report plan/actual variances; monitor revenue and profitability against approved spend.
- Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and support financing needs with suitable instruments.
- Accounting
- Manage organizational and operational accounting tasks with external tax office oversight for core bookkeeping; ensure smooth collaboration.
- Prepare timely, accurate HGB-compliant monthly and annual financial statements and coordinate annual statements with the tax office.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in finance, ideally in start-ups, scale-ups or fintechs; proven leadership of finance teams and strategic development of finance departments.
- In-depth knowledge of financial management , cash flow management, cost structures, and structuring and execution of credit processes for corporate financing, including working capital and growth financing for fast-growing companies.
- Strong expertise in lending , ideally across B2B and B2C, and in implementing complex financing products such as installment models, asset-backed securities, factoring, and BNPL.
- Solid knowledge of German accounting (HGB) and tax law; familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
- Strong knowledge of digital finance tools (e.g., DATEV, Spend, Treasury/Liquidity, Billing, FP&A) with a willingness to adopt new digital solutions.
- Experience managing large financial volumes (ranging from hundreds of millions to billions).
- Hands-on mindset that combines operational involvement with a view to the strategic master plan.
- Experience in structuring, sourcing, and refinancing debt capital and working with capital market instruments is a plus.
