Head of Legal and Compliance

The Head of Legal and Compliance position offers a stable long-term career within a high-impact leadership role at an asset management firm in Zug. Core responsibilities involve driving governance and compliance initiatives, supporting the board, ensuring compliance reporting, following through on regulatory actions, and designing and executing compliance strategies. The role requires maintaining controls and regulatory registers, managing incidents and remediation, and leading AML and KYC processes. Additionally, the candidate will ensure regulatory compliance with Swiss FINMA requirements and coordinate governance for Luxembourg-domiciled funds. The role includes acting as a legal and commercial advisor, drafting and negotiating agreements, overseeing cross-border distribution and marketing controls, and serving as the main contact for regulators, auditors, and external counsel. Regular tasks involve managing regulatory interactions, navigating audits with confidence, ensuring end-to-end compliance, and performing target market and suitability assessments for EU distribution rules. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to influence legal frameworks and compliance strategies, work closely with executive management, and partake in high-visibility projects with cross-border stakeholders. Applicants must hold a university degree in Law and have a minimum of 15 years of experience in legal and compliance roles within the wealth or asset management sectors. Experience with Luxembourg fund structures and Swiss FINMA regulations is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership skills, a solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to negotiate complex agreements with a pragmatic business approach.
